On rocks.
Ros & Guerra (1988) reported this species for Murcia based on material without sporophytes. According to Muñoz (1999), G. tergestina belongs to a complex of taxa that can only be confidently determined from sporophytic material, so it was reported as Grimmia aff. tergestina by Cano et al. (2004). The above material was found with sporophytes and support the report of this species in Murcia.
